I would have brought out a *tiny* bit more highlight on the main trunk...just a wee bit, something to move the eye around. There's very little movement of the eye. Once you get into the work, the eye finds all sorts of wee details to devour, but it takes some effort to get there.
I like the slight asymmetry to the tree, it reminds me of the natural bonzai in japan
I'm gonna state the sugary-sweet stuff nobody likes first. As I was saying, I do like the colors and technique. The stratched type texture fits the tree quality of it and the itty-bitty thing of a background whatever you wanna call it.
But something bugs me. There is alot of foliage to the left side of the tree, and they don't seem to be connected to any branches. I'm also confused about some of the branches because you can't even tell where they're connected to. The branches I'm talking about are mostly located at the top. If you wanted to make excessive foliage, atleast provide a source for it. Also, it's kinda unbelievable that there would be so much sagging out to the side; makes the tree seem unbalanced and likely to fall over on one side
Other than that you did a good job, while some branches appear to be a bit toowhite. An in my opinion, I would cut off the usage of white in the little branches and a little white in the leaves, so that the viewer won't be so distracted and will look at the tree as a whole.
That's it for my critique, as always feel free to point out anything that I was wrong about.
