tools of trade : water colours / acrylic / pastels / =tanathe's Johnnie Walker but shhh don't tell her that / crayons and basically whatever I had at time lying around me
Oh and of course I have to credit my hamster for walking around, leaving his paw prints, eating my water colours and being an annoyance all together :I
I love the vibrancy of the colors and how shiny you made the hair. That being said, the arrangement of the characters is a nice triangle, though the way hei is posed makes it look like he is about to cut yin. The flow of the cords draws the eye from place to place, and it really does lead the viewer. However, some of the twists closer to the edges are a small bit distracting from the focus of the picture. Yin's rightmost eye looks a little droopy, or a little too big. The patterns and attention to detail on the dress of yin, the pattern of mao's fur, and the bright white lightning flowing through the picture really help to make it.
I gave a four for vision because of the few distractors and Yin's eye. I gave a four for originality due to the arrangement of the characters, the detail of the background and technique displayed. Technique gets a five because you show many beautiful techniques that are amazing, visually stinning, and your watercolor didn't bloom or choke. You get a Four for impact because of the nature of the colors and the stark contrasts. It truly leaves an impression.
