At first glance, I will admit, I only picked out a few of the key elements. The bright glowing, of course, immediately drew my attention. Everything else feels sparsely placed, a little floaty in places and not quite coming together with the whole. The detail is obviously well spent, definitely draws the eye in toward the winged dog and the imps on its back. The winged imps on the dogs back feel a little lacking in emotion or movement considering the leap their mount is taking. Like they are posing and the wolf is playing. I could see this being an illustration that went well with a story. My over all feelings of the piece are generally favorable. I enjoy the mushrooms and the glowing light with its cast off sparks. The wolf is showing a lot of expression. My only negative opinion would be the lack of character of the winged things on his back. They look suspiciously smiley. If that makes any sense.
What I especially like about this piece is the overall of what is happening in the middle. Though, what is in the middle is a bit unclear, it still gives the audience an idea of something 'big' happening. As the last critique stated, the expressions of the imps on the back of the doglike creature lack the impression the piece is mostly giving off. The mushrooms did well on reflecting and generally pointing towards the fiery center. The colors of the whole piece vary greatly and make it incredibly interesting to look at. The bits of random sparks, though, distract from what is going on.
Waah You never cease to impress me! But I must admit that it looked like you rushed at the end. The background isn't as detailed as the creatures and the Mushrooms. The fire and Leaves effect seems to be pasted randomly. The fire made me wonder for quite some time...What is it for? Are these creatures being attacked or are they jumping out from a Magical dimension? Either way it's in general a Very pretty image! And Again very nice job with the creatures!
How many children from my basement do I need to offer up for your painting skills? This looks beautiful as always and I love the evil little faeries. Just myself being dumb, I instantly thought of a corgi when I saw the thumbnail (stories of them being fairy steeds).
This is pretty dang awesome. I guess I wish it were a little bigger though so I could get a better view of the details without having to lean so close and squint. I guess it could just be that my eyes are crap though. How long did this one take?
This piece is amazing! If you ever feel inspired to do a tutorial you should do one to show how you do your backgrounds and the swirly vortex, it looks so complicated and busy I wouldn't know where to start to try and make something like that! Great piece, stimulates the mind for certain.
Now I no where near as good as you or Tanathe in artistic ability so I'm not really in a position to give a critique, but I feel like the mushroom on the bottom left, the one that we can see the underside of, could be a little darker underneath considering the light source is right above it, but then again I'm not sure because most of the surrounding area is already pretty dark. Now I've never given a critique before so I probable don't even know what I'm talking about.
I actually spend quite a lot of time trying to make those mushrooms in front look right. I tried making them, as you suggested, darker. I tried blurring them, even cutting them out all together. Nothing really helped
Oh, this is awesome Akreon!!! <3 ;O; Your artwork is so beautiful and realistic Your backgrounds are so amazing! I love the fairies over there and that animal what they are riding :3 Good work akreon! ^_^
