To start, I have to say that I really like the overall impact of this work. I feel that you have a definite understanding of Spider Jerusalem, especially with the posturing and facial expression.
I really appreciate the attention to detail used throughout the coloring of the character. My favorite part being the dome of the head; the subtle variations of shade give a distinct impression of not quite a day's growth of stubble.
The smooth transitions between the skulls and peacock feathers lends a great psychedelic quality to the work as well. Certainly a must in a portrayal of this particular character.
It's also a bit of a personal joy to me that the cigarette smoke rises to form the brilliantly colored background.
If there is one thing that I could find that is a little awkward in this piece it is some of the slightly jagged color transitions. Although the sudden and abrupt aspects of that same jagged-ness is also a good indication of the subject himself.

This is a very impressiv painting with many different styles. On one hand you have the flat ornamentic style of the peacock feathers, marged togehter with the really realistic painting of the character. On the other hand you have the flowing colours wich look waterpainted on the first view.
But they are althoug not just a backround, they are related to the caracter too and make the whole picture looking whole.

The painting of this character fitts perfectly to the character from the comics. He looks ageless, but lived. The lighting is great and his face expression shows that he is up to no good, but if you are clever enough and smart, you two could end up in a very satisfying discussion. ... if you dare...
